Outer Diameter Grinder Capabilities

OD grinders are named after their specific purpose, grinding the outer diameter (OD) of a piece. Conversely, ID grinders are used for grinding the inside diameter (ID) of a piece, which is usually a longer process requiring a skilled operator to make smaller cuts to the correct measurements.

Centerless grinders are a specific type of OD grinder that, rather than requiring the workpiece be supported on either end, rests the piece on a workblade, holding the workpiece against the grinding wheel.
